Koumba, our TBM on metro line 14 South, Paris

It is called Koumba!
On April 24 the RATP Group baptised the TBM of the Line 14 South, lot 4, which should get an early start from Puits Morangis to the north towards Pont Rungis Station. The SWS’s Team is in charge of the tunnel excavation studies and now it is finalizing the necessary PAT (Plan of Advance of Tunnelling) for the launch of the machine.

The TBM bears the name of Koumba Larroque, a local French wrestler that has been nominated as the event sponsor.

Curiosity: Usually, all the TBMs have a female names in line with the tradition of Saint Barbara, patroness of who works underground.
