CLUJ-NAPOCA METRO & SUBURBAN TRAIN

Romania's second largest mass transport network after the Bucharest metro

The metro project includes a new route linking the central and southwestern districts. The project includes the construction of the 20-km-long route, extending in the west from an interchange with the metropolitan train at IRA bridge through the emergency hospital to Florești, serving 16 stations. The project will have two stages of implementation.

The metropolitan train project includes the introduction of suburban services along an upgraded section of the existing east west main line. The project also includes the upgrading of a 43-km-long segment of the Huedin–Cluj-Napoca–Dej line between Nădășel in the west and Bonțida in the northeast for the metropolitan train service. Both Cluj-Napoca metro and suburban train projects will develop the city’s economy and will improve the overall quality of life for the residents.
